Quentin Tarantino

When people usually watch a movie they most of the times just see it as a whole and do not notice a few very important things of the movie. These are how is the movie directed and what are the power of dialogues in a specific situation of the movie. The direction and script are the two main tools of a movie which can make a movie a super hit or can also flop it. One of the directors in Hollywood industry which has achieved an extraordinary status in movies is Quentin Tarantino.

His full name is Quentin Jarome Tarantino. He was born in March 27 1963.  Quentin Tarantino is famous as a filmmaker whose film use non linear storylines and mannerism of violence. From Reservoir Dogs in 1992 till Inglorious Basterds in 2009 he has never disappointed his fans when it comes to movies because of his nonlinear storylines, the scenes, and dialogs and off course the direction.

Total film named him the 12th greatest director of all time. Some of his trademark scenes which he is very famous for are: Lead characters usually drive General Motors vehicles, particularly Chevrolet and Cadillac, such as Jules’ 1974 Nova and Vincent’s 1960s Malibu. Briefcases and suitcases play an important role in his movies as seen in Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Jackie Brown, and Kill Bill: Vol. 2.Mostly he works with Tim Roth, Uma Thurman and Sameul L. Jackson.

His films usually have a shot from inside of the trunk. His films will often include one long unbroken take with long conversation or the character if followed somewhere. He often playes a small role in his films as Mr. Brown in Reservoir Dogs (1992), the answering machine voice in Jackie Brown (1997), Warren in Death Proof (2007) and Jimmie Dimmick in Pulp Fiction. Quentin Tarantino has attained a lot of respect in movie making and has always made movies which are fun to watch with different characters and unusual storyline and hopefully in the future he will still earn his fans respect by his upcoming movie Kill Bill 3.

Quentin Tarantino

The bold opening credits and music, the immediately interesting and unique story, the style and acting were all perfection! The first thing I questioned was, who is Quentin Tarantino and why haven’t I heard of this guy? I absolutely had to check out Reservoir Dogs once I realized that this hot new director made another great film that actually went unnoticed. (more…)

Albert Einstein

More than anyone else, Albert Einstein is the official poster boy for genius. When I ask people for names they associate with the idea of genius, Einstein was always in the top ten, and is usually the first.

I’m sure your response is very similar. But how much do you know about what Einstein actually did? (more…)

Avicenna

Cancer history goes way back. The Greek term carcinoma is the medical term for a malignant tumor. Celsus translated carcinos into Latin cancer. He called benign tumors oncos, which is Greek for swelling and malignant tumors carrions. Celsus later added the suffix – oma making the name carcinoma. Treatment then was based on the humor theory of four bodily fluids. The four bodily fluids were black and yellow bile, blood and phlegm. (more…)

Jodie Foster

Have you ever seen the movie, Contact? It is one of my favorite movies, because not only has it a great, talented cast and fantastic visual effects, but also because it is a highly spiritual movie, demonstrating that we are not alone in the universe.

From a spiritual standpoint, most of you may believe that God is always with you. However, there are skeptics out there, including the main character of the movie, Ellie Arroway.

Her mother died when Ellie was just an infant. She is a highly intelligent child, excelling in science and technology. Her father shows her how to operate a ham radio at a very early age and she works tirelessly to speak with others, beginning with this simple form of radio communication. She yearns to connect somehow with her mother. This is evident by a question she posed to her father, given as a small child, “Dad, can we talk to mom?” (more…)

Quentin Tarantino

Say what you will about Quentin Tarantino, he has made a tremendous impact on the world of cinema with a relatively small number of films.  Taking great care to envision his films from start to finish, the writing blends with the direction and cinematography as a matter of course.  With a new Tarantino film hitting the theaters, it’s a good time to watch the revivals of these five gems on satellite TV networks in high definition. “The better the dog, the busier you have to keep him.”

That was the advice a dog trainer, of all people, gave Christoph Waltz, the Vienna-born actor who won the top acting prize at Cannes for his role as the eerily deliberate Col. Hans Landa in “Inglourious Basterds.” (more…)

Known to their enemy as “The Basterds,” Raine’s squad joins German actress and undercover agent Bridget Von Hammersmark on a mission to take down the leaders of The Third Reich.
