|
Collective name for the proprietary file formats produced by digital Cameras. RAW formats include NEF (Nikon), CRW (Canon), RAF (Fuji) and the Adobe Digital Negative format DNG (among others). Common usage refers to a RAW image file as one that is 'un-processed'; RAW files can be likened to film 'negatives', as they need 'processing' to make them look as the photographer intended.
